Borussia Dortmund, one of the most successful clubs in European football, has announced the signing of Dutch international winger, Arjen Robben, for a reported €30 million transfer fee. The deal is expected to see Arjen play for Borussia Dortmund for three years. Arjen Robben was born on July 29, 1985, in Amsterdam, Netherlands and played for Ajax F.C. from 1997 to 2004. He scored 66 goals in 176 games for the club before leaving for Real Madrid in 2005. After that, he moved to FC Barcelona where he won the Champions League with the club in 2009. In 2013, Arjen signed for Bayern Munich but he left the club after two seasons due to disagreements with coach Joachim Löw. In 2015, he joined Chelsea for a reported €42 million transfer fee. After joining Chelsea, Arjen struggled to make an impact at the club as he was not able to score enough goals to be a regular starter. However, he made a strong impression during his time with the Blues and eventually helped them win the Premier League title in 2017-2018. Now, Arjen has returned to Dortmund and he is looking forward to playing for the German champions once again. His presence will add more depth to the midfield and help Dortmund compete with their rivals, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Manchester United (MU). Overall, Arjen Robben's arrival at Borussia Dortmund is a huge boost for the team and it will undoubtedly improve the overall performance of the club. |
