The January transfer window has officially begun in the Premier League, with clubs beginning to make moves to strengthen their squads ahead of the second half of the season. The first day of the January transfer window saw several high-profile transfers being announced across Europe's top leagues, including Manchester United signing Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon for £55 million, and Liverpool agreeing to a deal with Benfica for Virgil van Dijk. In England, meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur have signed Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon for £45 million, while Manchester City have secured the services of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City for £39 million. As well as these big-money deals, there were also several smaller signings made by Premier League clubs, with Newcastle United signing defender Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham for £7 million, and West Ham United signing goalkeeper Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich for £26 million. Overall, it was another busy January transfer window for Premier League clubs, with many teams looking to improve their squad before the final stretch of the season. With just under two months remaining until the end of the season, there is still plenty of time for more transfers to be completed, and we can expect to see even more activity in the coming weeks and months. |
